With this the third image and its forceful deformation, the idea of the series begins to take shape. I hoped to show the many competing and conflicting forces within a woman growing into an adult. It is meant to be a shocking image and to be a strong counterpoint to the earlier two more “normal” ones. I hoped it would put the viewer on notice that this would not be an ordinary series of female nudes.
