The series « 21 » starts out with two of the most classically (or conventionally) beautiful images. This one is the most photographic in the typical sense as well. When I had secured the place to exhibit it I asked Valerie to write a statement for the exhibition that could hang next to my own. It was my feeling that these pictures were a collaboration and I wanted to give equal prominence to both of our statements. You can read them here and here.
