Michael was a fellow student in a photo class I attended in 89. We became good friends and are still in contact now. He bravely agreed to model for me in the nude and several came out well. Later he also modeled for me several times when I worked in color. In working with people’s bodies, I didn’t give much direction, but encouraged people to try out positions. This one struck me because of how the pose and deformation seem to work together.
